Freeway No. 5 meanders through the heart of Yilan

Yilan is located in northeast Taiwan. Its vast Lanyang Plain was created by erosion from the Lanyang River, and is surrounded by mountains on three sides, with the ocean on the east side. This unique geography has given rise to the unique culture of Yilan. Gazing across the plain, one can see buildings tall and short standing among green fields, and Freeway No. 5 wandering its way through the gentle county.
